WhatsApp Secret Messages

WhatsApp is renowned for it’s privacy features and having one of the strongest encryption systems ever. It’s not a new feature but has become a cheating partners paradise now that they can use WhatsApp Secret Messages. So sit back and let me explain how 👇🏼

Locked Chats

The keyword for WhatsApp Secret Messages is Locked Chats. 

To Lock Chat all you simply do is swipe left on a chat in the messages page and hit the three dots. Here you will be able to Lock Chats which then makes that chat only accessible with FaceID/TouchID or similar. 

This is not something new and as a feature is fantastic for extra layers of security, especially for businesses who have employees using WhatsApp.

Hide locked chats

Now for the secret sauce of WhatsApp Secret Messages. Hide Locked Chats. This one feature is the whole key to hiding entire message threads for anyone snooping on your phone without the secret code to make them visible. 

Once you have ticked/turned on Hide Locked Chats the only way they are visible is with a Secret Code which can be a number, a word or a mix of letters and numbers. 

This is the perfect communication channel for cheating partners as it enables people to hide in plain sight. I’ve spoken about secret apps for storage but this eliminates the entire need for those apps! 

Secret Codes

The beauty of the whole thing is you will never know if someone has Locked Chats enabled as the Secret Code hides it completely. The only way to see Locked Chats is to enter the Secret Code in the search bar in the main messages page. This then opens the Locked Chats but only if you have the phones passcode/FaceID/TouchID will they open. 

3 layers of protection makes it perfect for spies, government employees, criminals and of course – cheaters! 

Other ways of secret comms

To finish this blog post off I’ll leave you all with another sneaky way cheaters are communicating. This is iPhone only as far as I’m aware..

The Notes App

This one has been branded on social media for a while now but is still being used. Simply put, two iPhone users can share a Note within the Apple Notes app through Collaborating. This lets the Collaborators make entries into the Note including text and photos. Now the main beauty of the Notes Collaboration feature is that it does not (to my knowledge) save anything within there so once the text has been deleted it is gone forever as it doesn’t save back ups etc.
